Forget last year’s god-awful Tekken live action movie; Namco have just revealed they’re taking the gaming franchise’s big-screen reputation back into their own hands with the fully 3D CGI action flick Tekken: Blood Vengeance. Set to hit cinemas in the summer, you can check it out in the trailer above.
Directed by Youichi Mouri and with a screenplay written by Dai Sato of Cowboy BeBeop fame, the movie takes place between the events of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6.
Tekken games have always had incredibly impressive cinematic sequences, so it’ll be interesting to see whether or not they’ll be able to weave a good story around them. Gaming movies are notoriously terrible, but fingers crossed for this adaptation which has apparently been in development since January of last year.
