toshiba_tecra_m10_laptop_pc.jpgToshiba has announced two new notebook PCs aimed at business users concerned about hardware and data security.

As well as a set of fairly standard hardware features, both include Toshiba’s EasyGuard technology, fingerprint recognition, advanced password utilities, and a Trusted Platform Module.

EasyGuard protects against unauthorised users gaining access to the PC, and also includes a shock protection chassis to reduce damage to internal hardware caused by the rigours of life on the road.

The Intel Centrino2 vPro processor offers hardware-based security which can filter the PC’s network traffic, helping to cut down on malicious attacks across a network.

The Tecra M10 comes with 8GB of DDR2 RAM, up to 250GB hard drive, 14 inch widescreen TFT display, and dual layer Super Multi DVD drive, plus Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 3G connectivity.

The Tecra A10 gives an extra inch of display. Both come with Vista Business Edition as standard.

The A10 starts at £499 (£586 inc VAT), and the M10 at £599 (£703 inc VAT). Available from the autumn.
