BT has introduced its Elements phone, which claims to be rugged - meaning it can take the odd knock and possibly withstand a few drops - but I wouldn't put it to the test.
It's designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with a weatherproof handset and an incredibly large range from the base station - up to one kilometre - which is one very big garden. It also means you can keep it with you if you have to nip to the shop or to see a nearby friend (if you're expecting a call).
It also features a 50 name and number directory, SMS, 10 ringtones and a built-in torch. Available now, it sells for £59.99.
