Nokia to use Zune Marketplace? "Maybe", says grapevine

An interesting rumour has appeared on the “that’s a pretty logical move now you think about it” pile – apparently Nokia and Microsoft are looking for a tie up between Microsoft’s Zune Marketplace and Nokia’s mobile phones.

This makes a lot of sense for two ugly kids for whom prettyboy Apple is the bane of their lives – Microsoft doesn’t make phones, having repeatedly denied that they’re planning a “Zune phone”, and Nokia doesn’t make dedicated music players…

Microsoft Zune MP3 players landing in Canada June 13th, possibly discontinuing 30GB model?

As Bill Gates promised back in January, the Zune is landing in Canada!

Officially landing on Friday the 13th (of June), the 80GB version will be CA$249, the 4GB CA$139, and 8GB CA$189. Microsoft hasn’t mentioned the original 30GB Zune, which still remains on sale in the US, so my guess is as they’re not rolling out the model in new territories, they’ll probably soon discontinue it in the States as well…

Our hipster brother-in-law My Chemical Toilet, you know, the one with the limp? Well, he’s just informed us of this new advert for the Microsoft Zune, which is actually a really good watch.

He made sure to remind us to let you know it’s featuring a new, unreleased song from N*E*R*D, called ‘Spazz’, but what we’re really watching for is the lovely Zune-a-licious colours.

NBC took its shows off iTunes – now they've popped up on Zune

After bravely turning its back on Apple’s iTunes thanks to rows over money and royalties and charges and the like, American telly juggernaut NBC has started releasing its shows via the… Zune shop. What’s the Zune shop called? Anyone have a clue? MicroStore? ZuneTunes?

Whatever the Zune shop is called, it now hosts more than 800 NBC-owned ‘properties’, with shows coming from the likes of Comedy Central…
