Top five crap Valentine’s Day colourways/products to get your loved loathed one tomorrow

red-sony-vaio.jpg
This happens but once a year, where companies feel compelled to spray-paint their products an embarrassing shade of red or pink in the hopes some daft fool will be forced to buy it at 5.42pm on the 14th of February, because Godiva and Charbonnel et Walker have run out of chocolates.

Here’s my top five pick of what not to buy someone for Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Not a single one. No-one. Just don’t do it. Get them some tins of Green Giant niblets instead.

1.) Sony VAIO CR notebook – an expensive present for your loved one, this red-painted laptop will set you back $1,000, however you can be safe in the knowledge your partner will slap you for insulting him/her with a red matching cover and heart-shaped key chain. What? You think they actually like Sony VAIOs?!….

Sony to give a MASSIVE 1% of their Vaio FZ Graphic Splash Eco Edition laptop sales to green charities

Nice product photography doesn’t detract from just how lame Sony’s claim is that they’re helping the environment with these Vaio laptops.

They’ve just announced the Vaio FZ Graphic Splash Eco Edition laptops to help quench Greenpeace’s rumours that they’re the least green company around save the environment, and admittedly are completely reaching for ideas. Claims that the ‘slim design for minimum use of natural resources’…

Now, I’m by no means a Sony fan, but phwroar, check out these tasty new products from the big ESSSS themselves.

Alright, they’re not exactly ‘new’, but have simply received a splash of paint to celebrate their Canvas at Sony art installation. Pictured are the NW-A808 MP3 players (for $228) and VAIO VGN-CR90…

Sony unveils 34 new VAIO notebook PCs across six series

sony_vaio_type_c_notebook_pcs.jpgSony has gone overboard with its latest selection of VAIO notebook PCs, offering 34 choices across six different series.

Briefly, these are series C, F, R, S, T, and “TV PC”, though as these are initially destined for the Japanese market, I’m gleaning their specifications from a rough translation of the Japanese press release.

The VAIO Series C seems to be as much about colour as it is about features, with notebook casing coming in a variety of lush shades including indigo blue, luxury pink, pure white, and an untranslatable shade of red.

It seems as if the PC can play back audio and video without having to be fully booted – it certainly has dedicated buttons for multimedia. It also has a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, a 14.1-inch widescreen LCD, and is just 2.1cm thick.

Sony unveils portable multimedia PC with Blu-ray drive

Sony has unveiled its new VAIO FZ range of notebook PCs, with the premium model able to play Blu-ray high definition content in full 1080p resolution.

The FZ notebook weighs less than six pounds, packing in an Intel Centrino Duo processor, 15.4-inch widescreen display with XBRITE-HiColor technology, an HDMI connector, 802.11n wireless connection, and pre-loaded Vista Premium.
