RUMOUR: Vodafone to launch Android handset with HTC
Perhaps Vodafone’s CEO has had a change of heart since dissing Android last year. There’s a rumour flying about that the network operator is planning its own Android handset, built by HTC.
The rumour suggests that it’ll be launched next Tuesday, the 17th Feb, at Mobile World Congress, which would make sense. I’ve emailed Vodafone about the device, but if they come back to me with anything other than “no comment”, then I’ll be very surprised indeed.

HTC's lineup for 2009 leaks
HTC seems to be the anti-Apple. Its products tend to leak out months and months before their release, in direct contrast to Apple’s legendary product secrecy. Yesterday, HTC’s entire 2009 lineup made its way onto the internet somehow, which means we now know exactly what the handset manufacturer will be releasing this year.
Perusing the full list, there’s a few exciting models – most notably the Rhodium (pictured above) and Tungsten, which appear to be the HTC Touch HD Pro. We might see an announcement at Mobile World Congress later this month about that. Let’s hope so.

HTC Touch HD: mobile Internet and entertainment handset coming this Winter
HTC has announced its latest handset, the Touch HD, which boasts a 3.8-inch wide touchscreen display, five megapixel camera, expandable memory, and TouchFLO 3D user interface.
Big handsets with large screen real estate have grown in popularity since the likes of the iPhone and Viewty, and this is surely HTC’s most convincing competition yet.
This 3G phone can utilise HSDPA at up to 7.2Mbps where available, plus Wi-Fi. The HTC TouchFLO 3D interface sits on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. There’s 512MB of internal Flash memory and 288MB of RAM, plus microSD/SDHC memory card expansion…

Big-screened HTC "G1" could be first Android phone, exclusively on T-Mobile in the US
Building on speculation a couple of weeks ago, it seems that an Android mobile phone could be on sale in the States as soon as October, if rumours based on people with inside knowledge of Google and HTC are to be believed.
In a flurry of naming creativity, HTC is expected to launch its G1 mobile phone, sporting a decent five-by-three inch touchscreen, real slide-out QWERTY keyboard, three megapixel camera, 3G, and of course the Android operating system…

Price of unsubsidised iPhone 3G in Italy to be a low 499€, or £394
Up until now, we’ve had no clue as to how much an unsubsidised iPhone 3G will set back the countries lucky enough to buy an iPhone out-of-contract.
Vodafone Italy has confirmed that the price for the 8GB iPhone will be 499€, and the 16GB model will be 569€, converting to roughly £394 and £450. Considering the phone has 3G data speeds, I’d say…
Nokia E Series will only appeal to boring business folk
Perhaps it’s unfortunate for Nokia that there are so many decent mobile handsets being announced at the moment, but their E-Series enterprise handsets sound distinctly boring.
The £66 and £71 models are expected to launch in Europe in the third quarter, featuring GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, and 128MB of memory. Booooring…
