PS3's Home delayed until… god only knows when

ps3-home-delay-number-207.jpg

The public beta test of Sony’s much delayed Home online service for PS3 has been – yes, you guessed it! – delayed again. Sony has now pushed back the launch of Home’s public beta test until “Fall 2008.”

Fall, as international-travelling, jet-set readers will know, is what Americans call Autumn. So if the beta test isn’t going to be out until Autumn 2008, it’s pretty unlikely that the finished, for-everyone 3D avatar system will arrive until 2009.

Opinion: I really hope my laptop breaks soon…

gary%20and%20sonic%20200.JPGGary Cutlack writes…

Today might be the day my laptop finally breaks. I hope it does. The bloody thing cost me £850 about two and a half years ago but is now little more than an embarrassment and liability.

That joke will never get tired. Never!

Lowest common denominator idiot magazine Nuts has made its social networking site MyNuts live, after an apparently successful month-long beta trial. Jaxtr’s been going since 2007 and has just granted all of its users the chance to send £FREE international text messages. Excitingly, this is one scheme that we’re allowed to join…

What is it with ageing rockers and cutting-edge music distribution schemes? Last month we revealed that Def Leppard was releasing a single via Guitar Hero III, now “The Crue” is releasing its new track exclusively via rival music game Rock Band.

Motley Crue’s single is called ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ and it’ll appear on the American Rock Band download list next Tuesday, for the equivalent of 99 cents – on both Xbox Live and Sony’s PlayStation…

In case you haven’t been suckered into it, Lost has left our screens for a four-week hiatus, so I thought it was high time to review four of the best PMPs for storing the last four seasons of the addictive show onto, for watching when you’re on the train to work, at the football, or waiting for your colleague who’s in a sex shop.

Take a look above at the video, which we just filmed on the streets of London’s Soho district, for our thoughts on the Archos 605 Wi-fi, Sony PSP, Creative Zen, and Apple iPod Touch….
