World's smallest PC unveiled – the teeny, tiny, Compulab fit-PC Slim

“Honey, have you seen my PC?” “Did you check down the back of the sofa?”

That’s the refrain that’ll echo through the home offices of suburban Britain in the near future if this tiny, tiny PC takes off. This PC, no bigger than the palm of your hand, actually has surprisingly reasonable specs behind it. A 500MHz AMD Geode processor, upto 512MB of RAM, ethernet, Three USB ports, Wifi and a 60GB hard drive are available at maximum spec. Oh, and it runs Linux, obviously, though Windows XP is an option…

A computer that was once a barbecue – if only it still was

barbecue_computer.jpg

As you can probably tell from the picture, this rather odd computer is made out of a barbecue. There doesn’t appear to be a great deal of point to the venture – the barbecue no longer functions in the traditional manner, so it’s not like the user can play GTA whilst attending to the sausages. That would actually be a rather useful device – hardcore gamers probably miss out on hundreds of meals a year whilst halfway through a game, so it would be rather useful if they could ‘game and grill’ simultaneously…

Poker-playing computer Polaris kicked the bottoms of several top poker players last week, raking in a profit of some $150,000 for its developers at the University of Alberta.

“I read his MSN conversation log. I was just curious. And then I saw that he was talking to, like, young girls. And the disgusting part is that he’s 53!” said one teenage boy…

LINDY launches small, stylish KVM switch for dual computer users

lindy_kvm_lite_switcher.jpg

In my mind, KVM switches were always the domain of the sysadmins in the IT department who had two PCs on the go but only enough room on their desk for one keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

Now, though, dual computer use is becoming popular at home, too, and desk space is often just as precious. Enter LINDY’s KVM switch, a modern, compact switch that allows any Mac or PC combo to be used with a single keyboard and mouse, together with a DVI monitor connection…
