Amazon launches faster, slimmer Fire TV Stick with Alexa+ features
Amazon has officially launched a brand-new generation of its popular Fire TV Stick 4K, promising snappier performance, a slimmer build and expanded conversational features.
Built on Amazon’s proprietary Vega operating system, the updated 4K streamer supports Wi-Fi 6, AV1, HDR10, and HDR10+ at up to 60fps.
According to Amazon, the device delivers a significant performance leap, getting viewers from powering on to streaming between 20% and 40% faster than comparable rival 4K sticks, with apps launching over 35% quicker.
The new model adopts a slimmer form factor previously introduced on the Fire TV Stick HD and features Direct Power functionality, enabling it to draw power directly from a compatible television’s USB port, rather than requiring a separate wall plug.
Accompanying the hardware is a completely redesigned Fire TV Remote tailored for tactile navigation. It features an asymmetric body with a flat top and a curved, weighted bottom, alongside distinct button shapes and a metallic Home button surface. It also includes a customisable star button for quick app launches or accessibility settings.
In addition to hardware updates, Amazon is rolling out advanced conversational Alexa+ capabilities designed to offer context-aware recommendations, follow-up query support, and photo-based movie discovery via the mobile app.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K is priced at $59.99 in the United States, with local pricing applying across launch markets including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
