Doctors have developed a “superhuman” AI tool
that can spot heart disease in less than two seconds. The groundbreaking technology has been trained on millions of patients and works by extracting more information from a routine electrocardiogram (ECG) than the human eye can typically see. The traditional ECG, which records electrical activity in the heart, including the rate and rhythm, has been a vital medical tool in diagnosing heart attacks and abnormal heart rhythms for a century. But it cannot detect heart disease. That requires an echocardiogram, a type of ultrasound scan, which patients often have to wait months for. The Guardian

Technology company Dyson has launched the CameraJet electric toothbrush, which includes a mouthwash jet that is directed by a camera to remove plaque between teeth. Named the Dyson CameraJet, the electric toothbrush is Dyson‘s first dental hygiene product. According to the brand it combines brushing, flossing and mouth-washing into one device. Described as an “entirely new way to clean your teeth”, along with an oscillating brush head, the device “uses a camera to floss while you brush”. Set near the brush head, a 100,000-pixel macro-lens camera tracks the teeth to find gaps, which are sprayed with mouthwash. Dezeen

In an open letter to finance ministers in the US on Monday, he said companies around the world should prepare for security breaches “involving simultaneous disruption across multiple firms”. BBC

Shares in Shein have plunged on their first day of trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The fast-fashion giant’s stock price fell by as much as 10pc on Tuesday as it made a long-awaited stock-market debut. The online retailer was once estimated to be worth almost $100bn (£74bn). However, the slump saw Shein valued at just $24bn by the end of Tuesday’s trading session in Asia. The underwhelming launch suggests that the London Stock Exchange may have dodged a bullet.  Shein had considered listing in the UK. Telegraph
