Sony updates wireless headphone line up, including return of WH-1000XM4C

Sony has announced three new additions to its wireless headphone range, including a refreshed version of its popular over-ear model, alongside a limited-edition collaboration with Hello Kitty.
The centrepiece of the September 2026 release is the WH-1000XM4C, priced at £219 / €279. Built on the architecture of the widely used WH-1000XM4, the updated model retains active noise cancellation while introducing a 10-band equaliser for customised sound settings and an additional Lavender colour option alongside Black and Platinum Silver.
Targeting the mid-range market, the WH-CH730N debuts at £100 / €119. It features active noise cancellation, a foldable design, AI-powered call noise reduction and a battery life of up to 50 hours. It is available in Black, White, Pink, Blue, and Beige.
Rounding out the lineup is the entry-level WH-CH530, retailing at £50 / €49. Aimed at everyday casual listening and online study, the lightweight on-ear model offers up to 55 hours of battery life, a 5-step volume limit for hearing protection, and AI noise-reduction technology for calls. It comes in six colour choices, including Cobalt, Coral, and Mint.
In addition to standard retail availability, Sony has confirmed a partnership with Hello Kitty. Selected headphone models will be bundled with branded accessories, including a custom tote bag and carrying pouch.
The new headphones are available through Sony’s website and major electronics retailers.
