TCL rolls out Google TV with Gemini integration across Europe

TCL has officially launched the Google TV platform featuring Gemini AI across its television portfolio in Europe.

The rollout has begun in the UK and will expand into other European markets throughout 2026.

The software update integrates Google’s artificial intelligence into TCL’s hardware, focusing on its new SQD-Mini LED lineup (X11L, C8L, and C7L) and its RGB-Mini LED models (RM9L and RM7L).

Select 2025 TV models will also receive the update, depending on device eligibility and system update schedules.

The integration of Gemini replaces standard voice commands with a conversational interface, changing how users interact with the operating system.

The update allows viewers to:

• Use Conversational Search: Users can find content by describing themes, plots, or actors rather than searching for exact titles.

• Receive Recommendations: The system provides content suggestions based on user preferences.

• Manage Smart Home Devices: The TV functions as a hub to control compatible connected home devices via voice.

• Access Information: Users can ask questions, check information, or control music playback through the interface.

“Bringing the Google TV with Gemini experience to more TCL TVs reflects our broader approach to connected entertainment, where intuitive interaction and display experiences come together in everyday life,” says Stefan Streit, CMO at TCL Europe.

The launch builds on an existing partnership between the two companies. According to industry shipment data cited by the manufacturer, TCL has been the highest-volume shipper of televisions running the Google TV OS from 2021 through 2025.

Availability of the Gemini features will vary by country, specific hardware compatibility, and local system update timelines.
