Elon Musk has seen $350bn (£264bn) shaved off his net worth
as SpaceX share prices have slumped. Mr Musk became the world’s first trillionaire, and is likely to have been the wealthiest person ever, when SpaceX made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange earlier this month. By the end of the first day of trading, the SpaceX share price had soared from $150 to $161, making it the sixth-largest US company with a market value above $2.1trn. That pushed Mr Musk‘s net worth to an estimated $1.1trn, according to Forbes. But less than two weeks on from SpaceX’s impressive start, its share prices have slumped amid a wider tech stock sell-off. Sky News

Meta has paused a new company-wide program of tracking its employees’ computer usage which has been plagued by internal frustration. The program was started only two months ago as part of an effort by Meta to gather data on how people used computers, including mouse clicks and keystrokes, that could be used to train artificial intelligence (AI) models. It was met immediately with upset from employees who were to have their every online action at work tracked and recorded, but also concerned about where the data was going and how it would be protected. A supercomputer in China now outranks its US counterparts as the world’s most powerful. It is the first time since 2017 that a Chinese computer has topped a list sometimes viewed as a measure of a nation’s technological prowess. The LineShine computer in Shenzhen displaced top-ranked US computer El Capitan in the Top500 rankings released on Tuesday. It was LineShine’s debut on the list. China’s LineShine differs from other high-performance computers in that it runs entirely on conventional computer chips (CPUs), instead of the graphics processors (GPUs), commonly used for AI. Richard Osman has said that American popular culture is under the control of “billionaires” who all have “quite thin skins” after Amazon chose to pull its Sam Altman film. Earlier this week, Amazon MGM made headlines by scrapping the almost-finished Luca Guadagnino film Artificial, which stars Andrew Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The studio and streamer announced that it was no longer partnering with Guadagnino on the movie, which is said to have dramatised the brief period when Altman was suddenly ousted as OpenAI’s CEO in 2023 before being rehired. Despite being Insta360’s first vlogging camera with multiple Insta360 firsts, the Luna Ultra, overall, feels like a polished and bold product. Its triple chipset ably supports powerful features — especially the gimbal-stabilized 8K 30p video with 10-bit color depth and 4K 120p slow motion video recording, Log color profile, autonomous subject tracking autofocus and 32-bit float audio. With dual 20mm f/1.8 and 60mm f/2.0 lenses, each with its own sensor, you truly are getting two cameras in one. Tech Radar

PlayStation is currently experimenting with the way it delivers PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium titles in the USA, UK, and Japan, and the method it’s adopted isn’t going down particularly well with those affected. For years now, the monthly lineup of games has been delivered all at once on the Tuesday following the reveal. Now, in the USA, UK, and Japan territories alone, that big drop of PS5, PS4, and Classic games is being stretched out across a few weeks. Push Square
