Virgin Media has announced that selected customers will be able to sign up to get Plume’s smart home services bundle.

Those that sign up to Plume – separate to their current Virgin Media subscription – will gain access to Plume Adaptive WiFi. This is an integrated Wi-Fi network powered by cloud-based artificial intelligence which includes pods (pictured above) that can be placed throughout the home to improve broadband coverage and speeds.

Virgin Media customers will also get greater control over their in-home network and connected devices through the Plume app.

Beyond improving home connectivity, Plume enhances the online experience of users through guest access and parental controls as part of its HomePass feature as well as AI security.

Plume’s technology works alongside Virgin Media’s existing broadband connection. This means that participating customers can make the most of its ultrafast speeds—recently boosted to 500Mbps—in every corner of their home.

There are a range of options available to customers, including a three-pod Plume package for £6 per month, to give customers the flexibility to choose the right products for their home connectivity.

A select number of Virgin Media customers will be invited to sign up to Plume and they will receive a notification via email or when logging in to their My Virgin Media account.

Richard Sinclair MBE, Executive Director of Connectivity at Virgin Media said:

“As speed leaders in the UK, Virgin Media never stands still and is always looking to make Britain faster. We constantly explore new and innovative ways to improve connectivity for our customers in a way that suits their needs in the home. This is why we are working with Plume to offer a range of products to selected customers.”

Fahri Diner, CEO of Plume, added:

“Plume is honoured to be partnering with Virgin Media to build on their commitment to bring customers the best Internet experience possible through reliable whole-home Wi-Fi, personalised parental controls & guest access, and tightly secured and protected devices..”
