The Italian streaming platform CHILI has recently launched in the UK and is already having a lot of success. It is a subscription-free entertainment service that provides viewers with on-demand content on a pay-per-view basis.

Since it launched in 2012, the platform has gained success in Italy with over 1.6 million registered customers, subsequently expanding into Germany, Austria and Poland. Regarding the UK launch, founder Giorgio Tacchia says: “Thanks to its unique offering, CHILI has become one of the most important movie and TV series on demand platform in Italy. We know that Brits are equally big fans of on demand content, and that love goes beyond just the screen.”

The entertainment portal enables its viewers to stream content and have a quality viewing experience without being required to be at the cinema. Content is available in Standard Definition (750×576 pixels), High Definition (1280×720 pixels) and High Definition Plus (1920×1080 pixels), all requiring the appropriate broadband speed for the best picture quality possible.

Pay as you go

The characteristic that makes CHILI stand out is that there is no monthly charge and you only pay for what you want to watch. Instead of paying for a subscription that you may or may not use to its value each month, CHILI gives you the flexibility to access its content store and simply pay as you go. You even get your first film view for free.

Users can access CHILI on smart devices as well as Blu-rays with no monthly or activation costs. Each account can be linked to and simultaneously used on up to 5 devices, including Android and iOS devices, tablets, your computer’s web browser, and Smart TVs from LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Sony and Philips.

As you flip through the entertainment options available, you can pay easily via credit or debit card, PayPal or CHILI Wallet. CHILI Wallet is an integrated wallet that links to your profile that you can top up (beginning at £5) using a credit card, making the payment method safe and simple.

The streaming platform goes beyond its titles, offering extra services for its users. Tacchia says, “At CHILI we’re proud to offer all the latest movie premieres – from foreign art house to big screen blockbusters – alongside official merchandise, exclusive cinema tickets and a news hub, all with no subscription to get in the way.”

For those looking to stay up to date with movie news and trailers, CHILI is also able to offer these along with local cinema information due to its backing by 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros, Paramount, Viacom and Sony Pictures.
