Sony has announced a new flagship phone – the much expected Sony Xperia Z4.

Sony, unlike its competitors, operates on a twice-yearly product product refresh cycle, meaning the Z3 is only about 6 months old, and as a result the Z4 is pretty much the very definition of an incremental upgrade. Look away – nothing to see here!

As you can see in the image above – it looks almost identical to the Z3. The only real difference is the size of the bezel has been slightly reduced. Other than that, the screen is exactly the same (1080p, 5.2″), RAM is the same (3GB), and the rear camera is the same (20.7MP).

The processor has received an upgrade – from a Snapdragon 801 to a Snapdragon 810, and the front camera is now 5MP instead of 2MP.

And… well… that’s about it. But we’ll probably still get loads of adverts telling us how innovative it is anyway.
