Guitar Hero Live officially announced

Its official – we’re getting a new Guitar Hero game! GH Live will be hitting the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 and even the WiiU in the autumn and revamps the game slightly, focusing on two specific modes: There’s “Live” mode, where you play to a large crowd and they react in real time and “TV” mode, where you can play along with a constantly updated selection of music videos – in what will no doubt be a nice cash-in for record companies wanting to promote artists.

Interestingly it appears the guitar controller will be getting a redesign, to have six buttons, with three on top of three more – to “reflect the way people naturally play”.

Confirmed artists so far include The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Gary Clark, Jr., Green Day, Ed Sheeran, The War on Drugs, The Killers, Skrillex, The Rolling Stones, The Lumineers, Carrie Underwood, Pierce the Veil and Blitz Kids.

You can watch the launch trailer above.
