The coming year looks like it will be filled with interesting and exciting titles, from next-gen exclusives and sequels to brand-new IPs, with new games from legends such as Nathan Drake, Zelda, Lara Croft and Batman to newcomer titles such as Evolve and No Man’s Sky. Here are a few of the games we’re looking forward to in 2015.

The Legend of Zelda (Wii U)

The Legend of Zelda will be the first new game in the hugely-popular long-running series to hit Nintendo’s Wii U console. The open-world game — the first for the franchise — will see Link back in Hyrule with his trusty steed, Epona. And all in glorious HD. The game is due for release “some time in 2015″, according to Nintendo.

Bloodborne (PS4)

From renowned Japanese developer FromSoftware and director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the makers of the hit Dark Souls series, comes the action RPG Bloodborne – a PS4 exclusive. With a clear Lovecraft influence, the game takes place in the gothic, ruined city of Y’harnam which is rumoured to house a potent medical remedy. On arriving in the city, the player discovers it is plagued with an endemic illness that has malformed most of its denizens into beasts. You must navigate the streets and overcome the city’s violently deranged inhabitants and horrifying monsters to survive. Bloodborne is slated for release on March 24.

Evolve (Xbox One; PS4; PC)

From Turtle Rock Studios, the creator of Left 4 Dead, comes Evolve, the next generation of multiplayer shooters where four Hunters face off against a single, player-controlled Monster. Play as the Monster to use savage abilities and an animalistic sense to kill your human enemies, or choose one of four Hunter classes (Assault, Trapper, Medic and Support) and team up to take down the beast on the planet Shear, where flora and fauna act as an adversary to man and monster alike. Evolve will be released for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 10.

No Man’s Sky (PS4; PC)

No Man’s Sky, from British studio Hello Games, is an open-universe interplanetary adventure game. Players are able to explore the surface of numerous planets and interact with the flora and fauna, as well as engage in space battles with hostile forces. Planets and other features of this universe are procedurally generated, with the developers saying that this will allow for more than 18 quintillion possible planets. No Man’s Sky is due out some time in 2015.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4)

Set several years after the events of Uncharted 3, A Thief’s End sees a now-retired Nathan Drake embarking on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. Developer Naughty Dog has said of the game’s plot: “This is his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.” Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set for release some time in 2015.

Batman: Arkham Knight (PC; PS4; Xbox)

RockSteady’s final instalment in its critically-acclaimed Arkham Trilogy London-based studio’s vision of DC’s Dark Knight IP widescreen. Batman: Arkham Knight is set a year after the events of Arkham City, and the main storyline follows Batman as he confronts the Scarecrow, who has returned to Gotham City to unite Batman’s enemies in a plot to finally kill the Dark Knight. Kevin Conroy will once again voice Batman, and the Batmobile will finally be available as a driveable vehicle. The game is scheduled for release on June 2.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC; PS4; Xbox One)

The adults-only role-playing epic The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from Polish developer CD Projekt RED features rich storytelling, a massive open world and a well-realised combat system. This latest game will conclude the story of the witcher, Geralt of Rivia, whose new mission comes in dark times as the mysterious and otherworldly army known as the Wild Hunt invades the Northern Kingdoms, leaving only blood-soaked earth and fiery ruin in its wake. And it seems the Witcher is the key to stopping their rampage. The game is due for release on May 19.

Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One)

Lara Croft is back in Rise of the Tomb Raider, exclusive to the Xbox One. This second game in the rebooted franchise is all about the beginning of Croft’s career, sees her needing to use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Voice and mo-cap actress Camilla Luddington will reprise her role from the 2013 reboot, and writer Rhianna Pratchett is also back for the sequel. There is no firm release date as yet, but it is due some time in 2015.
