Early adopters will be salivating today at the prospect of Apple releasing a beta version of its next operating system, Yosemite, at about 6pm tomorrow UK time.

OSX 10.10, called Yosemite, was revealed in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The OS brings with it a bunch of new features, including “continuity” – the ability to seamlessly move between Mac, iPad and iPhone and carry on doing what you are doing.

Perhaps the starkest change though is to the visuals: in line with iOS the operating system will be getting a “flat” make-over to better fit in with mobile devices. There will also be increased use of transparencies.

If you’re a Mac user and you’d like to get your hands on the beta tomorrow, sign up to the beta programme here.
