Mars Rover takes a selfie

Here’s a fun photo courtesy of NASA – the Curiosity Mars rover, which is currently on the surface of the red planet has taken a selfie to mark the first Martian year it has spent on the ground.

The selfie itself was not as straightforward as snapping a photo on a smartphone: it is in fact a composite image made up of a number of shots taken by Curiosity’s camera over the course of a day, after it had finished digging a hole.

We’ve no word yet on whether Curiosity has an on-board “beauty mode” like the Huawei Ascend P7.
