Is this the iPad Air 2?

In an intriguing tweet by a French tech journalist, we might have just had our first glimpse of the iPad Air 2.

Steve Hemmerstoffer tweeted the following yesterday:

Whilst we can’t verify this image, it does seem fairly credible. It appears that – again, if real – the iPad Air 2 will be very similar to last year’s model, but with the addition of a fingerprint “TouchID” sensor. We’re also fairly sure we’ll see Apple’s latest A8 chip on the inside too. (The phone on top is an iPhone 5S, so nothing exciting there).

Other than that, we don’t know much else – but it is fair to assume the iPad Mini 3 (or whatever it decides to call it) will also come with TouchID.

If tradition is anything to go by, we can probably expect Apple to announce the Air 2 (or again, whatever it decides to call it) around November.
