The EA presentation at the 2014 E3 didn’t exactly set the world ablaze, but it saw the company adopting a steady-as-she goes approach with the announcement of new iterations of its FIFA, Mirror’s Edge and Mass Effect titles, to name just three.

If you missed the show, or if you want to catch up, read on for all of the trailers and info…

Star Wars Battlefront
EA kicked things off with a pre-filmed video of DICE discussing what it called “the Star Wars game we always wanted to make”. The developers said to help create an authentic Star Wars experience, they not only visited the LucasArts archives, they even went to some of the original movie locations.

Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled for a Spring 2015 release.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Bioware’s new RPG sees the player take on the role of the Inquisitor, a nameless figure with a shadowy past, who leads a team of warriors to go and batttle … wait for it … dragons.

The game will be out on consoles and PC in October.

Mass Effect 4
Bioware said that this new Mass Effect would take place “in a whole new region of space” – although the developer did not reveal any of the game’s plot. From that we can surmise that this will be a completely separate story from that of the original trilogy that ended in 2012.

The Sims 4
Yep, just like Big Brother, these characters just won’t go away. EA says that one new feature of the game is the ability to customise your Sims psyches – which means you will be able to define their personalities and emotions.

The Sims will be out for PC in the autumn.

EA Sports UFC

Fight fans are sure to be excited by the addition of Bruce Lee to the MMA game. Yes, you will now be able to play as the greatest martial artist the world has ever seen (sorry, Tony Ja, but it’s true).

EA said other fighters in the game will include Jon Jones, Chuck Lidell, Anderson Silva, Ronda Rousey and Cat Zigano. EA Sports UFC is set to release on June 17, for PS4 and Xbox One.

PGA Tour 15
What? No Tiger? That’s right, EA has dropped Tiger Woods from its popular golf game. Taking his place – as well as the normal grassy golf courses PGA Tour 15 will feature some fantasy courses, one of which is a war zone featuring battleships, fighters jets and lots of explosions.

PGA Tour 15 is set for release in spring 2015 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Mirror’s Edge 2
Developer DICE said that the sequel to the free-running action game would build on the premise of the first title but expand upon main character Faith’s – explaining who she is, and why she does what she does. No release date was announced.

FIFA 15
Yes, in news that will shock nobody at all, EA is releasing a new version of its popular football game. This year, EA says it is adding “emotional intelligence” to the game … whatever that means.

Other new features highlighted during the EA conference included better ball handling through agility and control features, as well as improved life-like rendering of players and balls.

Battlefield Hardline
The cops and robbers shooter finished off the show, introduced by DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson and Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis. They said that Battlefield Hardline is very different to previous games – it takes the action out of the military world and into a world of cops, robbers and those sitting on the fence in between.

Battlefield Hardline is set for release in October, but the beta is live on PC and PS4 now at Battlefield.com.
