The BBC reports that the company has announced a move into France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg later in 2014.

The additional markets announced this week will extend the US-based Netflix’s reach into nearly 50 countries, including 13 in Europe. The company entered Europe in 2012 when its service debuted in the UK and Ireland.

According to the BBC, Netflix currently has 48 million subscribers worldwide.
