With a press event lined-up for 7 August, LG seem on the cusp of revealing their oft-leaked LG G2 handset, with the company looking to drum up interest with this latest teaser trailer, embedded above.

After some surprisingly depressing statistics on the average human’s life (be prepared to shed at least 3,000 tears over the next couple of decades – that’s a downer), the video gives us a glimpse of the handset, seemingly confirming the rumoured rear-mounted volume controls.

With the unusual placement seeming to confirm earlier rumours, one does wonder just how many of the other previously leaked specifications are now accurate. Could the G2 come packing a 5.2-inch 1080p display, super-thin chassis and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as previously suggested?

We’ll have more news in the run-up to the launch of the handset, and will give you all the official details as they’re revealed.
