Motorola-RAZR-i-17.JPGA new Google-branded budget blower may be on its way to Europe by the end of the year, touting specs that would rival even premium handsets, new reports have claimed.

According to Spanish site ADSLZone, Motorola will be putting together a quad-core device running stock Android, making it one of the first handsets from Motorola to truly be considered a “Google Phone” since the manufacturer’s partnership with the search giant.

In terms of price, the handset is set to cost somewhere in the region of €250, working out at roughly £215. That’s even less expensive than last year’s impressive Google Phone, the Nexus 4 built by LG. It was our top Android device of the year, and received a near-perfect score in our glowing review. If Motorola can make an even more powerful device and lower the cost, that’ll be definitely a phone to look out for.

However, it’s not all good news – the report suggests that the Motorola handset could land in Europe in the place of the Motorola Moto X (or the ‘X Phone’), the long-awaited, oft-rumoured flagship device from the company. While we all love a bargain, if it comes at the expense of other truly top-notch gear, we’re not how to feel about the news. We’ll keep you posted!
