Vodafone_Smart_Mini_Black_GBP55_PAYG.jpgKeeping it cheap and cheerful is the order of the day with Vodafone’s new Smart Mini handset. Up for a PAYG price of £50, it’s an inexpensive smartphone that won’t break your balance, nor your heart should you lose.

Though running Android 4.1, its specs are very much in line with its pricing, offering only a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 1 GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM. Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity is offered, while a rear camera takes 2MP snaps.

Like we said, nothing groundbreaking here, but with the festival season on the horizon and many a messy summer night ahead of you, it may make for a good substitute phone in situations where your £500 smartphone seems a little delicate. It’d make a good entry phone for schoolkids too.

“We continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible with our Vodafone Smart range of devices, enabling more people than ever to join the mobile internet revolution at an unprecedented price,”

“In combination with our innovative, industry-leading prepaid and Vodafone Red price plans, the Smart mini and Smart III will allow customers to make the most of their smartphone and get the best of the Vodafone experience without breaking the bank.”

Available from today, you can pick it up in black or white colours, with a pink version set to launch soon.
