walking-dead-season-1.jpgThe Walking Dead: The Game from TellTale Games was a revelation last year. Updating old-school point and click mechanics with subtle story telling, meaningful decisions and a great art style, it made it into our list of top 10 PC games of 2012 (not to mention nabbing a spot on our “most depressing games ever” list).

With gamers eager to see what happens next in the zombie-infested series, it had initially been reported that Season 2 of the episodic game would land in 2014. That’s not the case. TellTale Games have clarified that Season 2 is in fact on course for a Fall 2013 release.

According to a spokesperson:

“The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for Fall of ‘this’ year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for the series!”

So, more tear-jerking zombie bashing fun sooner than we thought! We cant wait!

Available on PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PS3 and iOS, the first episode of The Walking Dead was released on July 26, 2012. While it was distributed over the course of a few months in 5 separate episodic instalments, it eventually made its way to brick-and-mortar retail shops in a physical disc format. Expect Season 2 to work along the same way.

Expected to be a next-gen release as well as current generation release, TellTale Games revealed at this week’s BAFTA Games awards in London that they are working on way to allow PS3 gamers to carry over the game-changing decisions they made in Season 1 to a potential PS4 version of The Walking Dead Season 2.
