hyperkin-retroN-5-top.jpgTime to dust off all those retro game cartridges sitting in the attic: Hyperkin are preparing to launch a new 5-in-one retro console called the RetroN 5 that will allow you to play games from five classic games machines from one unit.

With ports supporting NES, SNES, Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games, it has your every retro-gaming need covered. In fact, considering the console also supports Game Boy Colour cartridges (which were the same size as the Game Boy ones) and the regional variants of the NES (Famicom), SNES (Super Famicom) and Mega Drive (Genesis), it’s arguably a 9-in-one machine.

Hooking up to a TV over HDMI, the console will also give the older games a bit of spit and polish, jazzing them up with 720p upscaling.

Two Bluetooth controllers will also come as part of the package, syncing at a range of up to 15 feet.

Set for a July release in North America, it’ll set you back $100 (around £65). No word yet on a European or UK release, but we’ll keep you posted.
