hp-pavilion-chromebook.jpgFollowing last month’s leak, HP have officially lifted the covers off their Pavilion Chromebook. However, rather than being released on February 17 as the inadvertent reveal of the computer suggested last month, the Pavilion Chromebook will in fact go on sale this very day for US customers, priced at $329.99.

A fair sight more expensive than rival Chromebook models from Acer (but matching the Samsung Chromebook 550), the Pavilion has a 14-inch display, running at 1366×768 resolution. It’s powered by a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron 847 processor with 2GB of RAM, while a 16GB solid state drive is used for storing local content.

Being a Chromebook however, the intention is to keep the majority of your files up in the cloud, and so the Pavilion comes with 100GB of Google Drive storage, free for two years. Likewise, applications can be downloaded through the Chrome Web Store, storing most application data up in the cloud.

A HDMI out port for hooking up to a big screen TV is also onboard, as is an Ethernet port, USB 2.0 ports and a headphone jack.

No word yet on UK availability, but we’ll keep you posted. US customers can click here to visit HPDirect.com to order a HP Pavilion Chromebook.
