samsung-nx300-camera.jpgSamsung have revealed their latest flagship compact camera, the NX300, ahead of the CES 2013 show.

The camera will launch alongside a “world’s first” 3D lens system, which allows for simultaneous capture of Full HD stills and video. This NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens will be sold separately though this shouldn’t be too much cause for concern, as the camera is compatible with all current NX range lenses.

Samsung have popped a revised 20.3MP APS-CMOS sensor in the NX300, a step up from the similarly spec’ed sensor seen in the NX200 according to Samsung. The DRIMe IV image processing system claims to make the NX300 the speediest NX camera yet, will an ISO range of 100-25600 should deliver superb low-noise shots.

Measuring 122 x 63.7 x 40.7mm and weighing 280g without the battery strapped in, the NX300 retains the range’s retro looks, with a touch-enabled 3.31-inch 768k-dot AMOLED display on the rear, tilting for arty angled shots.

The camera also plays nicely with the Samsung Smart Camera Ap for Android and iPhone, letting you quickly share snaps to social networks and offering a remote viewfinder for vanity shots.

No pricing or availability announced yet, but expect to find out more on the NX300 once the doors to the Las Vegas tech extravaganza open on January 8.
