sony-xperia-sl-1.jpgSony’s Xperia SL handset has now officially been revealed by the Japanese company, posting the specs of the Xperia S sequel online.

As expected, the handset sports a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core processor, powering a 4.3 inch TFT screen at a 1280×720 resolution capable of displaying 16 million colours.sony-xperia-sl-2.jpgThe impressive handset, available in black, white, grey and pink shades, also features generous photo snapping credentials, with a 12.1 megapixel sensor, auto focus, LED pulsed flash and 16x digital zoom.

Measuring 128 x 64 x 10.6mm and weighing 144g, the Xperia SL is only let down on paper by its choice of operating system; Android Ice Cream Sandwich is the version of Google’s OS onboard, rather than the newer Jelly Bean.

As ever with Sony, they’re keeping quiet on pricing or availability details, but expect to find out more about this promising smartphone come the IFA show at the end of the month.
