Samsung are letting the teaser stream flow in full now ahead of their big Samsung Unpacked event on 29 August at the IFA tech conference in Berlin.

Many expect the South Korean technology giants to reveal the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note 2, at the event. And this latest trailer starring German director Wim Wenders does little to disprove those rumours.

However, it does put a spanner in the works as to what the device may look like. The prominence of the stylus, or “S Pen”, in the video certainly hints at a Note 2, with the first Note also using a stylus. But Wenders’ mention of “such a small and light thing” goes against what many would expect of the smartphone successor.

The original Note was, ahem, notable for its size, with a screen measuring 5.3 inches. Rumours are currently putting the Note 2 at 5.5 inches in size, which seems at odds with the “Wings of Desire” director’s “small and light” statement.

Could we be looking at a whole new device altogether then? Or have Samsung somehow broken the laws of space and time to squeeze an even bigger display into an even smaller device?

With just nine days to go until the event, we wont have long to wait to find out. We’ll have all the news of Samsung’s announcements at the show on the night, so keep your peepers peeled.
