OptimusG_01_Press-900-75.jpgLG have lifted the lid on their flagship mobile for this year’s IFA 2012 conference. The LG Optimus G is an Android handset packing both a quad-core processor and 4G connectivity.

The successor to the merely six month old LG Optimus 4X HD, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz quad-core chip, powering a 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ display. Packed full of high-end innards, you’l also find 2GB of RAM under the hood, as well as a generous 32GB of storage, LTE connectivity and NFC technology.

Cameras include a 1.3MP front-facing snapper and an impressive 13MP one on the rear.

However, the OS onboard is only Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which has been superseded by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Hopefully an update will follow soon after launch.

Landing now first in Japan followed by a Korean launch in September, there’s no word yet on worldwide launch details. We’ll pass them on as we get them.
