google-maps.pngGoogle have updated their Maps app to provide directions around the inside of 40 locations in the UK.

Working with a number of partners, Google now provides mapping data for select shopping centres, airports and landmarks around the UK, including the Natural History Museum, London Bridge Station, Selfridges and London City airport.

Zoom in on the compatible location you’re interested in and you’ll be presented with a floorplan, revealing different floors in multi-storey buildings and points of interest contained within.

Google have also added indoor mapping information for select locations in Switzerland, the United States and Japan. The full list of locations can be found here.

The updated mapping service is available on Android 2.2 devices with Google Maps 6.0 and above.
