Parrot have today expanded their line up of hands-free gear, introducing the Minikit Neo. Using voice controls, it lets drivers keep their eyes on the road while still being able to manage their Bluetooth enabled devices.

Measuring 94 x 54 x 39 mm and weighing 69 grams,Text messages and emails can be dictated and sent using TextFriendly software, with the kit waking up after hearing the “Minikit” keyword.

The Minkit Neo can also quickly pair with NFC enabled devices by simply placing the two gadgets in close proximity with each other. Two phones can be managed simultaneously by the device, with simply saying “switch” flipping between the active handsets.

Parrot have also developed an iOS and Android app to accompany the Minikit Neo, which includes functionality like parking meter and driving timer reminders, and automated SMS responses when driving.

Battery management (10 hours in communication, 6 months in standby) is kept in mind with a smart vibration sensor too, recognising when you’ve entered or left the vehicle and switching power appropriately.

Landing in September, it’ll cost £79.99.
