lenovo-ideapad-u310.jpgLenovo have bolstered their ultrabook offerings with a slew of new models at this years CES 2012. The latest to come out of their stables are the IdeaPad U310 and U410 ultrabooks.

Starting at $699, these slim-slash-powerful additions to the U Series are more affordable than the top-end U300s.

Plenty of build options will be available, with a choice of Intel Core processors and SSD/HDD sotrage options at 64GB or 500GB respectively. Fast-booting and quick resume technologies are onboard, as well as a respectable 8-hour battery.

Size is the main differentiator here. The U310 weigh 1.7kg and measures 18mm thick whereas the U410 is a tad bigger at 1.9kg and 20.3mm. Both offer the same 16:9, 13.3-inch screens however. The other key difference is in graphics chips, with the U410 opting for a GeForce 610 1GB system, and the U310 going for an integrated GMA 3000HD.

Each ultrabook will also be available in an array of colours, including Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom, Graphite Gray, Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue and Spearmint.

Not quite as exciting, but Lenovo have also revealed Y Series, S Series and Z Series laptops too.

Starting with the Y-Series, they’re focussed on multimedia, with the IdeaPads Y480 and Y580 offering powerful GPU’s, Dolby and JBL audio and an optional TV tuner.

The S Series are high-end netbooks (if such a thing exists any more), with 11.6 inch screens, dual-core processors, 32GB SSDs and a comfortably light 1.3KG weight.

Rounding up the line are the affordable Z Series, lacking the punch of the other models’ processors and SSD drives, going cheap-and-cheerful with 13.3, 14 and 15.6-inch sizes and 1366×768 LED displays.

No word on UK pricing yet, but US readers will be able to pick up the Y Series from $899 by April, the S Series at $349 from June, and the Z Series for $599.99 from April.
