The Windows Phone platform is about to get a hearty injection of “designer cool”, as minimalist German fashionista Jil Sander has just announced the launch of a Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone.

Built by LG, it features the designer’s signature blue stripe, and manages a decent spec sheet (1GHz processor, Mango OS) for what essentially is a fashion phone.

With a 3.8 inch, 800 x 480 touchscreen, the phone also features a 5MP stills camera, 720p video recording modes, and comes complete with a soft protective pouch and a “premium wired headset” with blue earbuds to match the signature stripe.

The phone will also come with a pre-installed Jil Sander app, letting you quickly track down the designer’s nearest retail store, as well as browsing the season’s must-have collections.

Launching tomorrow, the Jil Sander handset will be available to gadget fans in Germany, Austria, Italy, France and good old Blighty.
