orange.jpgOrange are once again offering a great service with which to tempt movie fans onto their network. Beginning this week, Orange will offer a free iTunes movie download to their Orange Home Broadband, pay as you go, pay monthly, mobile broadband or business customers every Thursday via their new ‘Orange Film to Go’ service.

By texting ‘FILMTOGO’ to 85060, using the dedicated ‘Orange Film To Go’ mobile app or logging into facebook.com/orangefilmclub, users will be offered a response code to enter at orange.co.uk/filmtogo, which will then open the free iTunes movie download portal.

Downloads work in much the same way as an iTunes rental, available for 30 days but deleting themselves 48 hours after the first play. The rental code can be acquired anytime up to and including Thursdays each week, though the download will only be accessible on that particular day.

“We know Orange customers love film, so adding the Orange Film To Go service to our existing portfolio of film offers is hugely exciting for us,” said Spencer McHugh, Brand Director at Orange UK.

“Giving our valued customers a film download every week to enjoy at home or out and about on a mobile device is a great way to thank them for being part of Orange. We’ve got some fantastic titles lined up for the launch and even more yet to be announced, so we’re hoping to see a significant number of our customers taking up this offer.”

Movies available to download at launch will include The Wrestler, The Ghost and Che: Part One, with more titles to be announced over the coming months.

Orange already offer their customers the popular Orange Wednesdays bonus, allowing for 2 for 1 cinema tickets at multiplex movies houses up and down the country.

  • Everything free has some cost associated with it. I wouldn’t complain about the gas to drive to pick up a free couch. It would be cool if some American telecoms did cool things for their customers like this once in a while.

  • There are plenty of good points here, but I’m not sure that under real-time search being discarded. I agree that it is very important, but not the point of that to show what people are saying today about a topic.
