viewpad-7-top.jpgNot sure if the swelling tablet tide is for you? Then ViewSonic, makers of the ViewPad 7 Android 2.2 tablet, have an intriguing offer that may help you make up your mind.

Throughout April, they’ll be offering customers a 30-day free trial of their ViewPad 7 tablet, allowing customers to get to grips with the device, and return it if they’re not 100% satisfied. ViewSonic will even cough up return postages charges of up to £10, making it a very compelling offer indeed.

James Coulson, European marketing manager for ViewSonic said: “There are many people that have heard about the new Tablet trend but for various reasons have not yet dived in. Working with Google, we want people to have a good first Tablet experience, risk free.

“Customers taking up the offer can use our devices for 30 days free of charge in order to overcome any initial learning curves and really start to appreciate the potential of Android on a great device. The ViewPad 7 is a perfect start into the world of touch technology.”

It’s not a bad little device either, with a 7 inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, 600MHz ARM processor and 512MB of built-in memory, easily expandable by microSD cards.

Of course, you have to buy the tablet from an authorised retailer first (including Selfridges, Maplin and Amazon), for around the £290 mark, so you have to question the definition of a “Free Trial” here. But there’s still no denying that those return postal charges are generous.
