The Nintendo 3DS, the gaming giant’s forthcoming glasses-free 3D handheld, holds the dubious title of being proclaimed the most expensive portable games console ever, with an estimated retail price of around £229. Ouch.

If you’re on a tight budget but still need your Nintendo fix however, have no fear; Sainsbury’s supermarket are here to save the day. They’re opening up their pre-order pricing at £199.99, making them (so far at least) the cheapest option if you’re after Ninty’s latest must-have console.

Gurdeep Hunjan, Sainsbury’s games buyer, said: “If you’re looking for a Nintendo 3DS, this is a great way to secure one now and save some cash.”

To sweeten the deal further, those who pre-order from Sainsbury’s will also bag 1000 bonus Nectar points to save on their next shop with.

The 3DS launches on March 25th, but you can pre-order the console by clicking here now.
