Not CES 2011 – Huawei launches IDEOS X5 Android smartphone

Chinese company Huawei might just be the next big player in the mobile phone market, Already doing well in Asia just a few months after its first foray into the mobile market it has worldwide aspirations which are pinned on phones like the IDEOS X5 which it launched today.

It is essentially a touch screen device running Android 2.2 OS with a fair smattering of features. So buyers get a five mega pixel camera, 720p video capture and 4GB of memory on board.

Smartphones play an important role in helping people mange these two aspects of their lives conveniently and simply,” said Victor Xu, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Device. “The Huawei IDEOS X5 smartphone offers a perfect blend of style and technology that allows busy professionals to respond to work issues in real time while staying connected with loved ones and having fun at the same time.”

It goes on sale in parts of Asia in January with other countries following soon after.
