htc-flyer.JPGHTC’s first entrant into the tablet fray, the HTC Flyer, has just had its spec sheet leaked over at Amobil. Does the potential iPad killer have what it takes to fell the mighty Apple?

Maybe, but does hoping for a dual-core processor will be left underwhelmed. The Flyer is reportedly packing in Qualcomm’s 1GHz MSM8255 processor; the same one found in their Desire HD smartphone. With a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, it’s roughly on a par with the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Elsewhere there is HDMI output, twin cameras (1.3 MP round the front and 5 MP on the back), LED Flash, facial recognition, HSPA, DLNA and a revised version of the Sense UI. Android 2.3 is the OS of choice, with a 3.0 Honeycomb update available at some point after release.

A ten inch version with LTE is expected to hit later on in the year, with the 7 inch Flyer likely touching down in late Spring.
