Qype, the database for user generated reviews and event, restuarant and place recommendations, is to team up with Facebook for a new iPhone app.

According to the Qype press release:

“The app will link check-ins from Qype with Facebook Places, meaning that when a Qyper accepts to share their data between Qype and Facebook for a check-in at a location, they will be able to see both Qype and Facebook friends who are or were recently at that location.”

Qype already has over 1.5 million user reviews across 158,000 European towns and cities. With over 17 million visits to the Qype site a month, it’ll likely prove very popular. Though it’s light on details at the moment, we’ll have more info come the app’s launch in the New Year.

  • This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses.

  • The biggest review website in Europe combined with the biggest social network in the world will only mean good things. The Facebook places app is very vauge at the moment. The Qype app is very easy to use and with the use of vouchers as well makes it a dream combo.
    Looking forward to using it.
