harry-potter.jpgThe Harry Potter Facebook page has hit 500,000 fans, making it the most popular Facebook film page in the UK.

Launched to mark the release of the wizard’s latest big-screen outing “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part 1”, it’s surpassed Toy Story 3’s 423,058 users as the leading fan page.

The Potter page was aided in its quest for UK domination by the “Join The Final Battle” application, which gave fans a chance to win one of 100 tickets to the movie’s premiere.

In other Harry Potter news, Warner Brothers executives are in uproar after the opening 36 minutes of the movie leaked online.

A statement from Warner Bros. chiefs read, “A portion of ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One’ was stolen and illegally posted on the Internet. This constitutes a serious breach of copyright violation and theft of Warner Bros. property.

“We are working actively to restrict and/or remove copies that may be available. Also, we are vigorously investigating this matter and will prosecute those involved to the full extent of the law.”
