Nikon have just rolled out all the details on their high-end Coolpix P7000 point-and-shoot camera, and it’s looking pretty sweet.

With a 10MP sensor and EXPEED C2 processor under the hood, the P7000 also features a 7.1x Nikkor lens with 28-200mm range and lens-shift vibration reduction. Aperture settings max out a F/2.8 when you’re shooting at the widest angle.

ISO range goes from 100 through to 3200 and 6400 (Hi 1), while a low light mode can shift that to 400 to 12,800. Full manual and RAW capture controls are available for those who like to dig deep into the cameras settings.

Build wise, the P7000 takes its cues from Nikon’s DSLR range, with three control dials on top making it very familiar to anyone who’s played about with some of their more expensive gear in the past. A 3 inch display sits on the back with an optical viewfinder.

Video recording is annoyingly capped at 720p, though a built in stereo mic will pick up sound pretty well. An external microphone can also be connected, and shots and videos outputted over HDMI.

The Coolpix P7000 will be hitting shops on the 23rd September, priced around £489.99. Check out some more official pics of the camera below.
