Fujifilm Instax mini50S Cheki.jpgThe retro delights of having a Polaroid camera hanging around your neck may put you at the top of the geek-chic pile, but you’ll be counting the pennies every time you go to pick up its extortionately priced re-issued instant film. Enter Fujifilm with their Instax mini50S Cheki, a slightly cheaper alternative set for release this September.

Using Fujifilm’s Instax Color Film, which sells for around $16 for 20 snaps worth, it features a 2.4×1.8 inch preview screen, itself saving you money by letting you discard blurred or poorly framed shots before printing.

It’s a tiny camera too at only 4.4″ x 3.8″ x 1.9″, but you’ll have to load it with two CR-2 batteries before getting too eager with your photo-snapping trigger-finger.

So far this seems a Japan-only release, but you you can pick it up from JapanTrends for $220 come its release next month.
