Medal of honor book.jpgMedal of Honor, the controversial franchise re-vamp from EA that has playing as both American and Taliban troops, is to get a tie-in novel penned by ex-SAS serviceman Chris Ryan.

The best-selling author of numerous warfare novels, Ryan’s Medal of Honor tale will act as a prologue to the main storyline of the game.

“Bringing together the disciplines of literature and videogames has been a new but compelling experience for me as a writer, resulting in what is hopefully an engaging read for fans of videogames and novels alike,” said Ryan.

Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor and uncanny double of the game’s cover star, said: “Medal of Honor is an authentic look into today’s war. Inspired by real people and real events, the game puts players in the boots of today’s warrior – from the infantry ground pounder to the Tier 1 Operator. I’m excited to see Medal of Honor being represented in literary form.”

The novel will ship with every copy of the game pre-ordered from HMV, as well as being available from all good bookshops, and some rubbish ones too.
