Samsung Galaxy Tape.jpgiPhone 4 and iPad aren’t the only smartphone/tablet tag team set to hit the market. Entering the ring alongside Samsung’s Galaxy handset is the Galaxy Tape tablet, with the device getting an official name and a few more specs revealed.

It’s looking fairly tasty too; featuring a 7 inch super AMOLED screen, it’ll be sporting Android 2.2 (Froyo), with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI expected to be laid on top.

A 1.2GHz A8 processor is backed up by 16 GB of built in storage, expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card. It weighs in at a reasonable 370 grams, including the wieght of it’s 4,000mAH battery.

Though it’s expected to hit South Korea in August, there’s no word yet on a worldwide launch. Let’s hope it does get one though, as it would be great to have an alternative to the iPad/iPhone partnership.
