Though there has been a big push for 3D TVs this summer, it came as a bit of a disappointment when it was revealed that none of the major broadcasters would be showing the World Cup with some equally beautiful depth of field effects. This is despite many of the games being filmed in 3D by Sony.

However, if you’re after a 3D footballing fix, there is still an alternative. 47 select 3D Odeon, Vue and Cineworld cinemas will be showing the last 16 games of the tournament in the 3rd dimension.

Pop on some 3D glasses, grab a beer and it’ll be just like being in South Africa! Minus the vuvuzelas of course, which is no bad thing!
