iPad now available for pre-order in the UK

iPad running iBookThe wait is finally over for UK residents who have been patiently twiddling thier thumbs, dying for a chance to get their hands on an iPad. Apple are now taking pre-orders for their tablet device ready to be shipped out on Friday 28th May.

Both the Wi-Fi and 3G models will be available for pre-order as Apple’s tablet goes international, now also available to Australian, Canadian, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese customers.

Prices for the pre-order are starting at £429 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version. £499 will bag the 32 GB Wi-Fi iPad, £599 the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad.

3G-enabled iPads will cost £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB and £699 for the 64GB 3G tablet.

The iBookstore will also be available at launch, available as a free download from the App Store on the 28th of May.

Apple plans to release the iPad in even more territories including Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore in July.
